Hello and welcome to Year 5! We have a fantastic team in Year 5 and we all work together to make sure we're having as much fun as we can whilst we're learning! I'm Miss Bamber and I work closely with Mrs Skuse, Mrs Riley and Miss Treadwell to ensure you reach your full potential.
We believe that an open door policy is the best policy, so if you would like to discuss your child's progress or take a look at work in their book, please come to see me at the end of the day.
We look forward to working with you and the children during the next 12 months.
WELCOME BACK EVERYONE!
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas holiday with your family and friends! We have a REALLY exciting Spring term to look forward to with lots of fun lessons planned in. Our new Topic is "A Kingdom United" so we will be focusing on the main subjects Geography, Music, Computing and Science. English units will be based on Persuasion and Legends of the British Isles - both are included in my absolute favourites to teach! Maths will continue with No Maths problem, involving problem solving and a LOT of fractions - I can't wait!
SPRING TERM 1
PE days for this term will be Wednesday and Thursday. Please ensure you have full school PE kit in school on these days (no earrings please). On Wednesday we will have Jack he PE coach and on Thursdays we will have Mark the Cricket coach. Lots of expertise and a range of skills to learn. (For cricket, you may bring an outdoor kit to keep you warm!)

KLIPS stands for 'Key Learning Indicators of Performance'.
We will work torwards these targets over the course of the year.
It is expected that the children are secure in all of these areas by the end of the year. We aim to highlight off all, or as many of these bullet points as possible, throughout the year.

In Spanish, we have been recapping on our knowledge of colours and numbers to get us back into the swing of things after the summer. We designed the front cover of our books then decorated a poster, reminding ourselves of the Spanish colours. Can you sing this song to someone at home?
