Children at Brindle Gregson Lane are treated as individuals. Every child is unique and consequently work is planned carefully to cater for their different abilities. We aim to promote an attractive and stimulating learning environment in which children are motivated to achieve and be inspired to be the best they can be.
Children are taught in a variety of different ways, using different teaching styles where children may work on their own, in groups or as part of lesson involving the whole class. Children will have the opportunity to learn in various ways. All our children will be encouraged to question, discuss ideas, use research skills, reason, experiment, and solve problems.
Brindle Gregson Lane Primary School offers an exciting and enriched curriculum where teaching and learning are not just confined to the classroom. We aim to increase the children’s knowledge skills and understanding of their natural environment through Forest Schools. This provides opportunities for children to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in their natural environment.
Our commitment to a high quality education can be seen through our accreditation of two national awards. We have been awarded the Basic Skills Primary Quality Mark Award for the second time and also the Quality Mark for Early Years Award for the first time.
The attached documents outline our creative school curriculum from 2015. Ideas are adapted to suit the needs of the class and of individuals. Please take a look at what we are learning!
Curriculum Newsletters are sent out regularly by class teachers outlining topics to be covered. Please contact your child's class teacher should you require any additional information.
How do we assess our children in English and Mathematics?
Please find attached the Key Learning Indicators in Performance, (KLIPs) which we will be using to assess our children. These key objectives show what the 'average' child should be expected to do by the end of each year group.
