Job Title: Welfare Assistant
Location: Brindle Gregson Lane Primary School, Bournes Row, Gregson Lane, Hoghton, Preston PR5 0DR
Contract: 5.83 hours per week (5 hours, 50 minutes per week), Monday - Friday, Part time, Permanent, Term-time, 
Grade: £12.26 per hour
Salary: £23,656 pro rata
Deadline: Friday 17th January 
Interview: Friday 24th January 
 
An opportunity has arisen at Brindle Gregson Lane Primary School to join our school as a Welfare Assistant on a permanent basis. 
Working 5.83 hours per week, 11:50am - 1:00pm, term time only
 
We are looking for individuals with a passion for working with children who can:
    • Work as part of the supervision team in securing the safety, welfare and good conduct of pupils during lunchtime.
    • Supervise pupils in the dining room, including the organisation of the lunch queue and managing the areas where students are eating.
    • Supervise pupils on the playground
    • Clean and tidy the dining areas, ensuring that the dining room is kept clean throughout and after lunchtime.
    • Set up and take down the seating area within the dining room.
    • With support, manage student behaviour at lunchtime
    • With support, supervise and manage student behaviour around school and in the playground areas, including ensuring that pupils follow our rules
    • Any other duties as required.

The Nest offers a safe, engaging, and fun space for children before and after the school day. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Out of School Club Assistant to join our team and help create a welcoming and enriching experience for our pupils.
You will be required to:
  • Supervise and engage with children during before- and after-school club sessions.
  • Plan and deliver a variety of activities, including arts, crafts, sports, and games, tailored to the needs and interests of the children.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care, following school policies and safeguarding procedures.
  • Assist with preparing snacks and maintaining a clean, safe, and organised environment.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to create a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
We are looking for someone who is:
  • Passionate about working with children and fostering their development.
  • Reliable, energetic, and proactive, with a positive attitude.
  • Able to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Experienced in working with children (experience in a similar role or childcare qualification is desirable but not essential).
  • Knowledgeable about safeguarding and child protection (training will be provided).
This position is part time hours, permanent and term time only. Monday to Friday working 2:50pm - 6:00pm 
(3 hours, 10 minutes a day totalling 15 hours, 50 minutes a week)
